1999 Conference

The American Nystagmus Network held its first conference and meeting on July 30-31, 1999 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Cleveland, OH. For many of us, this was our first opportunity to meet each other in person and it was such a thrill.

Our keynote speaker was Dr. Louis Dell'Osso, a research scientist specializing in Congenital Nystagmus. Dr. Dell'Osso has CN himself and gave a wonderful presentation explaining nystagmus waveform recordings and his experimental Tenotomy procedure. Since the conference, the Tenotomy procedure has been in the clinical trial phase on human adults and children with nystagmus. Preliminary results of the trial are expected to be published in 2002.
