I am 37 and have been living with vertical nystagmus since age 15. When I was diagnosed with this disease, it was a very sad time for me and my family. With the grace of the creator, I managed to hide this disease from the world, other than those that thought I was strange or wierd. I graduated high school and went on to college to receive a B.S. degree. The older I get I am finding that dealing with the disease is getting difficult and difficult to hide. My current job is a production type job and I just am not keeping up with the normal pace of the other workers and it is getting to the point that I could loose my job. I am a single parent and need my job or money to take care of myself and my child. Does anyone know what options do I have?

"Need help":

It is not a disease, and nor is it something to be ashamed of. Seek out your local organization for the visually impaired and discuss tehnical aids with them.
